Want to make a difference in your community?

IECF’s Youth Grantmakers program offers youth ages 15-21 a unique opportunity to do just that. By participating in this program, young people can learn about local nonprofits, analyze grant applications, and make informed decisions about where funds should be allocated.

What’s it all about?

In this program, you’ll learn how to be a philanthropist. You’ll get to know local nonprofits, understand their work, and even help decide which ones get funding. You’ll gain new knowledge about funding through an equity lens.

What will you do?

  • Learn about nonprofits: You’ll discover the amazing things these organizations do to help people in our area.
  • Get hands-on: You’ll participate in site visits and community service projects.
  • Review grant applications: You’ll get to read proposals from nonprofits and decide if they’re a good fit for funding.
  • Make a difference: Your decisions will help support important causes and make a positive impact on our community.

Why join?

  • Gain valuable skills: You’ll learn about leadership, teamwork, and critical thinking, while gaining insight into the needs of your community.
  • Meet new people: You’ll connect with other students who share your passion for making a difference.
  • Have fun: The program is filled with exciting activities and opportunities to learn and grow.
