IECF’s CEO Michelle Decker participated in the 22nd Annual Foundations on the Hill Conference in Washington, DC hosted by United Philanthropy Forum, Independent Sector, and the Council on Foundations. Every year, this public policy and advocacy conference unites the philanthropic sector to strengthen our collective voice on Capitol Hill.
IECF brought a simple message to remind Federal legislators to remember the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, and to understand that no amount of private money can replace the role of our Federal government in caring for the most vulnerable people in our communities. “We’re appreciative of the productive conversations we had with members of our Congressional delegation from both parties,” said Michelle, “and we used the time to inform them about IECF and the ongoing needs of the region for health care, education, and disaster response.”
A vibrant nonprofit sector plays a crucial role in creating a world where everyone can thrive. By focusing on initiatives that may not drive market profitability but provide essential quality of life and access to opportunity, nonprofits help uplift communities, especially in a region where more than 40% struggle to make ends meet.
IECF will continue uniting people from all backgrounds and priorities to drive funding, growth, and visibility for the Inland Empire.
