Brie Griset Smith, CSPG, Chief Development Officer at IECF, has announced the appointment of Claudia Preza-Marin, CSPG, as the new Charitable Giving Officer for Riverside.

Preza-Marin brings over fourteen years of experience in the fundraising sector, specializing in major and planned gifts. In her previous position as Associate Director of Major Gifts at the International Rescue Committee, she played a pivotal role in raising funds for crisis and humanitarian aid relief globally. Her extensive background also includes work with Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. A passionate advocate for planned giving, Claudia holds certification as a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving and serves as secretary of the board for the Southern California Council of Charitable Gift Planners. Her interests in BIPOC trends in philanthropy, particularly Latinx giving trends and motivators, complement her expertise.

Claudia earned her B.A. in English from Mount Saint Mary’s University and a master’s degree in International Studies from Claremont Graduate University, focusing on Latin America. She resides in Corona with her family and enjoys traveling with her little ones.

“I’m excited to meet the supporters who care so deeply for our rapidly growing region here in the Inland Empire,” said Preza-Marin. “I’m thrilled to work alongside the IECF team to raise funds and awareness for the benefit of my community.”

Griset Smith said, “We are excited for Claudia to introduce new donors to our work and to deepen our relationships with our current supporters in Riverside County and beyond. Her knowledge and passion will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our impact in the Inland Empire and build a stronger community through philanthropy.”
