Dr. Daksha Jain and her husband Sudhir Kapadia discovered the meaning of giving back early in life, while growing up in India. Today, it is an important family tradition that drives their philanthropy in the United States and in their native country.
While pursuing careers as a pediatrician and an industrial engineer, respectively, they devote themselves to the local community, sharing a common belief in investing in programs that support the medical field, education, and people affected by poverty.
In late 2022, the couple partnered with IECF to create the D. Jain and S. Kapadia Foundation Fund, a scholarship fund to support graduating high school seniors in the Inland Empire. “So many of my teenage patients are smart and capable,” says Dr. Jain, “but because of family obligations are unable to pursue their careers.”
The Fund has already awarded $34,000 in scholarships to 13 students attending four-year universities. Best of all, the scholarships are renewed each year. By opening doors to education, the couple hopes to create a ripple effect that will contribute to the overall development and prosperity of the community.
