Every year during the holiday season, we look forward to our annual Brouse Legacy Society end-of-year celebrations in the Coachella Valley and Riverside/San Bernardino! It’s a wonderful time to gather with our Brouse Legacy Society members, Professional Advisor Champions and endowed fundholders to thank them for their commitment to the region and their confidence in IECF. The Brouse Legacy Society recognizes individuals and couples who have made provisions in their estate plans to provide a gift to the IECF as a legacy for Inland Southern California.
This year at our Riverside/San Bernardino event, Jose A. Marquez, Director of Planned Giving, presented Ila Perrine with a Brouse Legacy Society pin to commemorate her gift to IECF in honor of her granddaughter, Paige Allison Myles. Established in 2022, the Paige Allison Myles Scholarship Fund will support female students in the Emergency Medical Technician Academy at Moreno Valley College.
As each guest shared their personal and moving stories about why they’ve established a fund with IECF or referred a client, we were once again reminded of the great responsibility we bear in carrying out our donors’ wishes and bringing their dreams to life. Our Brouse Legacy Society members find deep satisfaction in knowing that their hopes for a better future will be stewarded with deep commitment by IECF – today and for generations to come.
Our donors’ interests span a wide variety of causes. Phil and Karen Hudis’ fund will support a local cancer center and nonprofits in their beloved Coachella Valley; Gloria Macias Harrison’s fund will help local community college students pay for their education; and George and Vici Nagel have ensured that their gift will provide food, shelter and support to our neighbors in need.
Other donors want to ensure that those who struggle the most can find good jobs that provide a living wage, that we engage emerging leaders, meet basic needs, and are resilient in the face of a changing climate. Through donations to the Here For Good Fund, these donors have chosen to support the IECF’s future as strong and responsive community foundation, advancing the region’s overall development and non-profit capacity through innovation and advocacy. This year, we’re thrilled to announce a $130,000 Here For Good Fund match, made possible by board members Paulette Brown-Hinds and Jeremy Hobbs through the Western Wind Foundation as well as generous donors Randall & Janell Lewis and the Lewis Group of Companies.
